Consulting Psychiatrist

Requisition Number 15112 Job Location Sunnyvale, California

Premise Health is seeking a Full Time Consulting Psychiatrist for their direct care clinic located in Sunnyvale, CA

Summary: 

Responsible for clinical oversight and health center consultation regarding administration of behavioral health policy and procedure regarding the delivery of health services.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in behavioral health.
  • Active member in the behavioral health community, as well as the medical providers community who treat members with mental health conditions.
  • Stays up to date on best practices in psychiatric care, including but not limited to screening, diagnosis management, and monitoring of behavioral health conditions, counselling, and psychologyservices.
  • Collaborates with/refers to medical providers, behavioral health professionals, and other health professionals to ensure delivery of comprehensive patient care plan as necessary.
  • Recommends referrals to specialized health resources for patient treatment as indicated.
  • Identifies knowledge gaps and need for education on diagnostic evaluations, pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment, and monitoring of behavioral health conditions.
  • Performs chart reviews of behavioral health staff in accordance with company procedures.
  • Provides consultative advice, mentoring and insight on unique cases, patient situations and/or client issues related to behavioral health.
  • Develops and delivers in-service training for behavioral health and primary care providers and staff regarding recognition and treatment of behavioral health conditions.
  • Establishes and maintains a relationship of mutual respect, acceptance, and trust with health center colleagues, clinical operations support teams, and referral partners as applicable.
  • May require other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree
  • MD or DO with unrestricted license in the State providing care or supervision/collaborative practice agreements.
  • Board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) appropriate for the population served (i.e., adult, adolescent, or pediatric).
  • State Prescriptive Authority (if applicable)
  • Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS – care) certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • At least three years of post-residency clinical experience as a psychiatrist in an ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice, or emergency department setting.
  • Must have prior experience in the field of treatment of behavioral mental health including depression, mood disorders, alcoholism and drug dependency, family counseling, marital relationship, grief, loss, etc.
  • Must have prior experience collaborating in an integrated behavioral health setting.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Training skills a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive, flexible, and solution-focused attitude
  • Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence-based clinical recommendations.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.

For individuals living in California only, Premise Health is required to include an estimate of the salary and benefits for this role. While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated California compensation for a Consulting Psychiatrist is $275,000 to $284,000 per year. Please note, this is a general guideline and your experience qualifications, geographic location, and other factors will be taken into consideration.
