The senior communications specialist helps lead and execute public relations strategies that strengthen the company’s reputation and generate external awareness of its offerings. Reporting to the manager, public relations, this role serves as a trusted communications partner across the enterprise, working closely with executives, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to support media relations, client communications, and broker and consultant communications. 


This is a full time, hybrid Senior Communications Specialist - Public Relations role located in Brentwood, TN.


What You'll Do

Lead execution of the organization’s media relations strategy alongside the public relations manager

Proactively identify opportunities for press releases, sourcing stories, proof points, and data that help tell the Premise story

Draft and distribute press releases that adhere to brand guidelines and support strategic initiatives tied to business goals

Independently develop media pitches, cultivate story angles, and conduct media outreach to secure earned media coverage

Develop executive briefing materials, talking points, and FAQs to support external communications initiatives, such as interviews and client site openings

Build and maintain relationships with reporters who cover Premise and our industry

Identify, evaluate, and pursue speaking engagements, award programs, and industry recognition opportunities aligned with business objectives.

Own media monitoring and competitive intelligence programs, synthesizing findings into actionable insights and recommendations for leaders.

Analyze media performance, campaign results, share of voice, sentiment, and industry trends to inform future communications strategies.

Develop executive-level reporting that demonstrates the impact of public relations and thought leadership efforts on business objectives

Identify opportunities to improve communications processes, reporting, and workflows to increase efficiency and impact.


What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience.

5+ years of communications, public relations, journalism, or corporate communications experience

Healthcare industry experience preferred but not required

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail

Comfortable communicating with executives and clients to gather information for media and thought leadership activities

Strong project management skills with the ability to independently lead complex initiatives simultaneously

Self-starter who demonstrates initiative and thrives in a collaborative work environment

Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and problem-solving mindset

Strong analytics skills and ability to interpret communications performance data and translate into actionable insights

Team player with a positive, can-do attitude

Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with a certain amount of ambiguity

Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Knowledge of working in a media monitoring platform; Cision preferred but not required
